Flowmeters : Clamp On Flowmeter

A flowmeter is an instrumentation device used to measure and record the flow rate of a gas or fluid. A clamp on flowmeter is one that can be installed external to the piping system and without the use of sensors embedded in the flow. Clamp on flowmeters are ultrasonic sensors, using ultrasonic pulses transmitted through the pipe wall and into the fluid to measure the flow rate. Because of the non invasive nature of these flowmeters, they are popular in the measurement of natural gas, chemical, or waste flows.
