Hydro Turbine Power Generation

Hydro Turbine Power Generation uses flowing water to drive a turbine connected to an electric generator to produce power. This is the typical scenario in a hydroelectric dam, where water on the high side of the dam is allowed to flow past the turbine on its way to the low side of the dam, driving the turbine in the process. The mechanical energy of the spinning turbine is converted to electrical power by the generator.
