Flowmeters : Coriolis Flowmeter
A flowmeter is an instrumentation device used to measure and record the flow rate of a gas or fluid. A coriolis flowmeter is used to measure the mass flow rate, or the mass of fluid passing per unit time. As the fluid moves through the tubes of the flowmeter, the mass of fluid shifts as it either revolves or turns a corner as a result of the coriolis force. The shift of the fluid causes a deflection of the tube and this deflection can be measured and related to the mass of fluid required to cause the tube deflection.
