Worm Winch
A worm winch is a winch controlled by a worm gear unit in which the driving gear,the worm, is a screw-like gear turning a spur gear. Worm winches typicallly have a very high reliability, however at a much lower efficiency than planetary or spur gear winches. Worm winches operate at an efficiency of about 35 to 40%.
